Because of the lack of vitamins and healthy food, many of the kids and villagers have terrible skin problems. When our farm is up and running, we hope to provide nutritious food to mitigate the children's skin issues. Now, we can only apply topical creams but the open sores return. This is a clue that a big part of our school design has to incorporate better nutrition and strategies to provide education about the benefits of a varied diet. We suspect that these lesions and sores are caused by the fact that the kids only eat one or two items of food: Ugali (a boiled green) and beans.
